A few children from Years 1 to 4 attended the tennis festival at Llantrisant leisure centre this week. There were a carousel of tennis activities to help practise their tennis skills. The children had a fantastic time!
Cricket wales visited the school this week to teach Years 3 and 4 cricket. J2 and J4 had so much fun this week. J1 and J3 are very excited for their turn next week.

The children thoroughly enjoy participating in the Eisteddfod this week. Well done to all the children that received certificates for their art, handwriting etc.
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday. We had lots of fun doing different activities and reading lots of books. The children looked great in their costumes! Thank you for the £1 donations and for the wooden spoon characters you have sent in.
Marie Curie daffodils are on sale in the main foyer for £1, should you wish to purchase one.

The staff and children have thoroughly enjoyed doing lots of activities and crafts for Welsh week this week. We are all now looking forward to the Eisteddfod on Monday.
Thank you to all the children that have brought a daffodil in, these are now on display in the shops and businesses in the local community. Have a look if you can spot your one!
Rags to Riches came to collect the bags of clothes today – thank you for your generous donations! We raised £115 towards resources for the outdoor learning environment.

Today Year 5 and 6 took part in their 2nd Pontypridd Schools Valley’s initiative round robin at USW Sports Barn. They played against YGGG Llantrisant and Gwaunmeisgyn primary school. They came away with 1 win and 1 loss. They displayed excellent tackling, passing and team work. Everyone is looking forward to the final round robin in March. Da iawn bawb!

The girls’ football team played USW Sports Park in the Urdd tournament yesterday. They won all matches and made their way to the final! Their effort and attitude towards all the games were fantastic. What a brilliant day they had!
Da iawn to James, Blake and Seren from Year 3, they won the Tesco Christmas colouring competition. The Manager presented them with a box of chocolates each today.

Year 5 and 6 pupils played 2 rugby games this week at USW sports, the games were against Gwauncelyn and Trerobert as part of the Ponty schools valley initiative round robin. Everyone involved had a brilliant time, with some great skills being displayed. The pupils are looking for to the next one in February. Da iawn bawb!
Final reminder please bring in your old Christmas cards to recycle, they will be collected Monday.
Also, please recycle your old batteries in school, there is a box in the main reception. -

Year 5 and 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their playing football this week when they took part in the New Directions football tournament on Thursday.
Team 1 finished third and Team 2 came second where they qualified for the finals. Team 2 sadly missed out on qualifying for the finals by 1 goal. Amazing effort by all pupils – da iawn!
The Eco Council are still collecting old cards and envelopes, please leave your bags in the main reception.

The Foundation Phase concerts were fantastic! Well done to the staff and pupils.
We had a flying visit from Santa and his reindeer on Wednesday he said that all the staff and children were on the nice list. See photos below.

The Nursery children were very excited this week when we had a visit from Falconry UK, they all had the opportunity to hold a bird of prey.
Well done to all Junior staff and pupils for their hard work in the fantastic Christmas concerts.
