Children in Need Friday 17th November
Wed 08 Nov 2023Year 6 pupils have worked hard again to prepare stalls for Children in Need.
Children can bring in money to buy from our stalls, such as name the teddy, guess the sweets in a jar. Year 6 are very excited! (Nursery and Reception, do not visit the stalls, but do participate in Pudsey activities in their areas).
We are looking forward to lots of fun Pudsey activities in class, whilst raising as much as we can for those children who need our help - we understand that we are experiencing tough times at the moment, so any donation will be much appreciated.
Chidlren can wear spots or any Pudsey merchandise.
Thank you again for your amazing support and co-operation.

Parents meetings - Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th October 2023
Mon 09 Oct 2023Parents meetings this year term will be on Monday 23rd & Tuesday 24th October 2023 from 3.30pm.
There will be an opportunity to book an evening appointment on either of these days, as well as at certain other times throughout that week eg: lunchtimes, dependent on teacher availability. These meetings will take place in either the Infant or Junior hall (dependent on your child's year group) or as arranged with your child's class teacher.
Nursery parents meetings will run in the Summer term, dates to follow.
We are continuing to use the online booking system called 'School Cloud' which allows you to choose your own appointment times with teachers and receive an email confirming your appointments.
As usual there is only one appointment per child and it will be for a maximum duration of 10 minutes. These appointments are intended as a general catch up on your child's wellbeing, progress to date and next steps. At the end of your 10 minutes, should you require further discussion with the class teacher, please email them directly to arrange a convenient time. Teacher emails are attached below.
The School Cloud booking system can be accessed via https://pontyclun.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to make a booking from 6pm Sunday 15th October until 2pm on Thursday 19th October. Once you have booked your appointment you will receive a confirmation email.
Should you have any problems when booking, please contact the school office on 01443 237 833 or email admin@pontyclunprimary.rctcbc.cymru.
Thank you very much

October Reading Challenge
Mon 02 Oct 2023Well done to all those children that took part in September's reading challenge using seesaw. For October's reading challenge we would like the children to send us a photograph of a book front cover, via seesaw, that shows an event that happens in October. Lots of events, not just Halloween, occur in October. We would encourage our eldest pupils to add a photo and explain underneath what event their book shows. The book choice may be fiction, non fiction or even poetry. We look forward to seeing the pupils' choices.

Reminders
Thu 28 Sep 2023Can we just remind all parents / carers of the following please
Sickness / Absence
The school needs to be notified of ALL absences and associated reasons. This is a legal requirement and we need to code the child's absence appropriately. Please call the school office (01443) 237833, choosing option 1, and leave a message. When leaving your reason please be specific i.e.: stomach bug, headache etc.
Leaving 'unwell' or 'won't be in today or this week' will result in the school calling you to ascertain a reason. Should your child be suffering from vomiting or diarrhoea, they must stay off school for 48 hours following the last bout of illness. Holiday forms are available from the school office or on our website and must be received at least one week before the start of the holiday.
Pupils school records & ParentMail
Please can you ensure that all the information we hold for you as parents/carers eg: contact names, telephone numbers and address details are current and up to date, should we need to contact you urgently, especially in the case of emergencies.
All school communications/messages to parents/carers are sent out via our ParentMail system. All parents/carers are set up on ParentMail when your child starts school and any changes to email addresses and mobile numbers must be made through your own individual account.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your child's school record and ParentMail account are kept updated.
Medical records
If there are any changes to your childs medical history, likewise, this needs to be kept updated. Please contact the main office for a form to complete or email admin@pontyclunprimary.rctcbc.cymru, thank you.
Drop off/Collection
If you need to collect your child outside of normal school drop off/collection hours e.g. after 9am and before 3.15pm, please could you inform the office via email or leave a message on the school answer phone. If you need to collect your child around lunchtime, please could you collect or drop off before 11.30am or after 1.30pm as staff are covering lunch duties.
Office
The office will be closed on Wednesday afternoons for administration duties. Should you need to contact the school, please either leave an answer phone message or send an email to admin@pontyclunprimary.rctcbc.cymruand we will get back to you in due course.
Please see attached current staff email addresses, should you need to contact your childs class teacher.
School Dinners
School dinners are £2.70 per day payable in advance. This is paid through the online RCT portal. A link to this can be found on our website www.pontyclunprimary.org.uk
To pay for dinners you will need your child's unique 10-digit number which can be obtained from the school office.
Please note that any payment arrears are sent off to RCT on a regular basis.
