Cross Country

Year 6 had a fab day out at the Cross Country competition in Ynysangharad Park.

Primary Languages Transition Day 2019

On Monday 1st July, Year 6 visited Y Pant for a Primary Languages Transition Day. The children had a fantastic time meeting members of the Languages department and making new friends as well as learning basic Italian, Spanish, French - and even some Mandarin!

All of the children made a fantastic first impression and James, Bethan, Simeon and Phoebe were all recognised by Madame Parker for their hard work and contributions during her visit to our school in the Spring Term.

The children will be visiting Y Pant again on Wednesday 10th July for a full day of lessons and fun!

Bend & Flow

At the beginning of the term, Year 6 enjoyed a fun-filled Immersion Day to kick-start our topic - Bend and Flow. The children came up with lots of interesting and exciting lessons following our Immersion Day: we have already studied various rivers in the UK and have begun planning a trip to the river. Lets hope the weather improves!

Summer Term 2019

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and the children are ready to start their final term in Pontyclun Primary School!

This term our topic is Bend and Flow. The topic will teach the children about rivers, rainfall, soils and the impact of water on the local environment and community. The children will learn about significant rivers of Wales and use a range of geographical skills to investigate the physical features of rivers, including the water cycle.

We will also be preparing the children for transition and making trips to Y Pant in the coming weeks. The children will continue receiving French lessons every Tuesday as part of transition preparation.

Details of the children's prom and the Leaver's Concert will follow in due course. We hope to make this term as enjoyable as possible and give the children a fond and memorable farewell.

Our VE Day Party

Before Easter, Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed preparing party food and celebrating the end of our 'Blitz' topic with a VE Party!
