Reminder - Sickness/Absence
Thu 01 Dec 2022REMINDER
Sickness / Absence
The school needs to be notified of ALL absences and associated reasons. This is a legal requirement and we need to code the child's absence appropriately. Please call the school office (01443) 237833, choosing option 1, and leave a message.
When leaving your reason please be specific i.e.: stomach bug, headache etc. Leaving 'unwell' or 'won't be in today or this week' will result in the school calling you to ascertain a reason.
Should your child be suffering from vomiting or diarrhoea, they must stay off school for 48 hours following the last bout of illness.
Thank you very much

Parent Council Representative
Tue 04 Oct 2022We want you!
The Parent Council was set up a few of years ago as a liaison system between parents and the school to ensure communication, problems, requests and ideas are shared through a class representative.
We meet together once or twice a term after school and discuss items on the agenda that have been brought up by parents and school staff.
We currently have vacancies in Nursery, Year 3 and Year 6.
If you are interested in joining us would you please email myself Mrs Williams on williamsj1544@hwbcymru.net stating your child’s year group and class.

PTA Information and AGM Date
Tue 04 Oct 2022Hello from Pontyclun Primary PTA
When you support us, you're not just baking a cake, attending an event or giving up your time by volunteering – you're buying play equipment for your child to use at break time, technology for their classroom, books for the school library and fun learning experiences. You're also making new friends, strengthening the school community and helping to make your child's school an even better place. It's great for the kids too – there's a direct link between parental involvement at school and how well children do.
Being involved in the PTA not only improves your child's school, it makes you an excellent role model.
Our goal is to provide the funding to help enhance and further the children's learning experiences and opportunities. Our funds benefit all the children and come from the fundraising initiatives and events we hold during the school year.
We are holding our PTA AGM (Annual General Meeting) in the main hall on October 20th at 3pm – all welcome.
We all have something to give. Even if you have younger children at home or only a small amount of time could you come to a meeting, help set up an event, serve food or design a poster? Perhaps you have a professional skill you could help us out with?
You don't have to come into the school; many of our volunteering tasks can be done from home. The most important skills you can bring are enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in.
If you would like to know more about the kinds of things we run and the events we hold, please join our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/288078034538461
